North of Normal Counseling was built for humans who have always felt outside the mold — the ones who learned to hide parts of themselves just to be tolerated, understood, or left alone.
Therapy here is not about forcing yourself into a shape that society finds easier to accept. It is about understanding yourself more honestly, healing what hurts, and learning how to exist without constantly editing who you are for the comfort of others.
Normal has never been the goal.

North of Normal Counseling exists for humans who have never quite felt built for the version of the
world they were handed...
I believe healing happens in spaces where you can stop performing. Therapy here is direct, trauma-informed, deeply human, and occasionally includes conversations about nervous systems, attachment wounds, llamas, why Legos are excellent emotional regulation tools, and the tragedy of having to switch to decaf because apparently heart palpitations are "bad."
I work with adults navigating trauma, identity, emotional intensity, relationship struggles, shame, burnout, and the exhausting experience of constantly trying to become more digestible for other people. With extensive experience in high-acuity mental health and addiction treatment, I'm comfortable sitting with the messy, complicated, deeply human parts of life without flinching or reducing your story to a diagnosis or checklist.
This is not therapy focused on making you smaller, quieter, easier, or more acceptable.
It's therapy focused on helping you understand yourself honestly, heal what hurts, and build a life that actually feels like yours.
The overthinkers.
The emotionally intense. The people who learned how to read a room before they learned how to relax in one.
